Life After Football

As always, our annual Footgolf event was a pleasure to host.

At the luxurious Golfcentre Seve in Rotterdam, we welcomed in all sorts of people from the world of football and elsewhere to compete on a Footgolf course. Each team was lead by a former professional player, with the likes of Pierre van Hooijdonk and Glenn Helder and more, captaining teams.

The 9-hole course was a challenge to say the least, as was Green Contractors’ Watering Can Challenge, too. The winners of that, the only two people to hit the hovering water can from a distance, were one of our amateurs and Yevhen Levchenko – the former taking home the cash prize.

Team Gassan were the overall winners of the tournament, getting a better score than anyone else and winning fine prizes from Moto, and some fresh kicks from our kit suppliers on the day, Umbro.

As for the individual honours, 3rd place and a trip to Davos, staying at a Hard Rock Hotel, went to the AZ manager, John van den Brom, who proved to be handy on the course as well as in the dugout. In 2nd was Levchenko, who picked up the prize of a Casa Ron experience for himself and seven other friends to enter the world of fine rums.

And finally, our individual winner on the day, in Rotterdam, was Feyenoord legend, Pierre van Hooijdonk. The former Netherlands international proved to be the best on the course, with his famous left foot finding the holes in fewer shots than anyone else. His prize was an incredible TAG Heuer watch courtesy of Gassan, that will surely be a fine memento of a fine day and night at Golfcentre Seve.
