It's knock-out season and this is where our picks for Comrade of the Day can truly become legends for their country.
When Argentina were drawn against France - a side who crawled through their group versus a side who barely broke their stride - there was a feeling that one of the many big players on show would do something special.
But, amongst your Messis and your Griezmanns, your wondergoal scoring Di Marias and Pavards, one 19-year-old stood above of the rest. Or rather, ran past them all.
Kylian Mpabbe's tournament thus far, somewhat like France's, had been effective without grabbing headlines. Just the one goal for the teenager in the group stage as France strolled out of Group C. But after little more than 10 minutes of this last 16 match versus Argentina, he was showing blistering pace as he burst out of his own half and into the opposition area to win an early penalty.
Then unfolded a wonderful game to start the knockouts as two worldies flew in from either side and Kylian Mpabbe's influence grew stronger and stronger. Netting two, the first to put France back ahead, this game had the feeling of a milestone moment for Kylian - as the 4-3 win eliminated one of the world's greatest, it may have pathed the way for a new superstar.
